Merve Denizci is interested in the social and cultural reflections of architectural structures and she thinks it is possible to trace the traces of each society in its architectural and furniture forms and the way they are used. In her art practice she mostly use painting as a medium, but these paintings are constructed in relation to another type of material or image. Even in our daily lives, objects come together, separate, create other associations with other objects, and relate to everything around us, including us, by chance or by plan. An art object is also in constant relationship with other objects and space, and our perception of it is shaped by the things around it. It is precisely for this reason that when she bring an artwork into a relationship with other objects or visuals she chooses, she wants to pave the way for the idea that it actually has or can have a relationship with everything around it. When she use forms and objects in her art practice, she produce knowing that no form is autonomous and independent. The material and the formal variations given by the material constitute an important part of the aesthetic language of her work.
